- I have been retired on disability since May of 2000 after being diagnosed with ALS that January. Prior to the diagnosis I was an engineering manager at SAIC. I also taught in the School of Continuing Studies at Johns Hopkins University in Baltimore for many years. I am a husband, father, grandfather, and a great-grandfather! Also, I am a concerned citizen who believes that each of us should take our civic responsibilities seriously!
